Events
During Top Teen of Canada week all contestants will appear in two public events (not including the group fundraiser). The public events will occur after they have had the appropriate workshops and training to help prepare them for the event
The events are:
Thursday August 21
Speech Presentation and Personal Showcase Night
Speech Presentation
The contestant will prepare and present a 2-3 minute speech on a topic that interests them. The speech may highlight a concern they have, a cause they are passionate about, or their home community.
You will have public speaking training as a workshop during the week and receive an opportunity to have your speech critiqued by your peers and professionals before speech presentation night.
Personal Showcase
Are you a passionate photographer? Do you write poetry? Do you sculpt or paint? Are you a keen singer and/or songwriter? Can you create graphic art? Are you a budding film director or producer? What is it that you enjoy doing?
This event is your opportunity to showcase yourself and your talents. If your showcase is something you cannot perform live, bring your footage and it will be shown on the big screen. You will be given up to 3 minutes. The only requirement is that you enjoy the skill that you intend to showcase
Saturday August 23
Final Showcase
This event is the culmination of the entire week, during which the judges have one final opportunity to reach a decision on who to award the title of Top Teen of Canada 2008
At the end of this event and after the judges have had time to reach a decision, the Top Teen of Canada 2008 will be announced.
